It works well if you have an email list and some followers. Why? These are the people you will reach out to first when promoting a product.
That explains why you need to promote products that relate well with your niche because that will mean the probability of them liking and buying the products are high.
If they like and want to purchase the product or service, they will click on your affiliate link (you will have provided) and buy the product so that you end up earning. That is what is referred to as Cost Per Action (CPA).

Whether you blog about Christianity, the marriage life, helping and giving hope to the poor and the like, you can still monetize a website and earn online.
Let me take, for example, a Christian blog. Many people think that a Christian blog cannot earn as much as a lifestyle blog. But tell me; do you know how many Christians we have in the world?

If you have a name out there for creating awesome websites as well as captivating content that makes those who come to your site never want to leave; then, you can try flipping sites. Somebody will tell you that you need to have high traffic to monetize a website through selling advertising space. That could be true, but not always.
Let me explain.
I do not have huge traffic like some bloggers I know, but I have had three clients asking me to offer them advertising space.
Actually, when the first client was contacting me, I did not even know how to go about it, so I lost him when he realized that I do not understand how this works. It’s a shame though.
I do not want you to encounter the same.
So, here’s what to do…
Have an advertising space on your website. Advertise it, too, so that people know you are offering advertising space. Since (assuming) you do not have huge traffic as per now, just charge a flat monthly fee. Don’t request much.
Your aim is to earn online as much as you can as you increase your income even as your website generates more traffic.
Now, if you get several interested people, tap yourself and keep offering quality content on your site so that many people can request for this service.
Once you get good traffic, you can review your charges. The most important thing here is to be patient and comfortable with whatever amount you are earning through the website.
As long as you are willing to give it the best, there is hope to monetize a website by offering advertising space.
Request Donations
If you want to monetize a website and earn online so as to help the poor, the disabled, the elderly and the like, then you can consider requesting for donations from your followers and web visitors. People reading your content will be able to see and understand why you are asking for donations.
I mean, they will see that your purpose to earn online is to get enough funds to help the poor and the disabled. It works even better if you have a children’s home or a home for the elderly.
A Christian blog would also ask for donations. Of course, the church/missioners need support to continue spreading the gospel or helping the poor in the society/church.
Also, the man or woman of God needs funds to be able to preach in as many nations as possible. There would be no problem, therefore, with him trying to earn online by asking for funds from people who read his content.
You see, it is alright to request for donations with such a site as this one, but you bet it might be an uphill task to have people believe they should donate.

As long as they love the eBooks or whatever products and services you are giving them without charging, they will be more than willing to donate since they desire to receive more from you.

Why? They desperately need what (only you) can give. So, it’s not about the number of years you have been doing something; it’s about having special knowledge and skill that somebody else does not have.
Plus, we all have what the other person does not have, but not all we have is a requirement by the other person. On the other hand, we all lack something the other person has irrespective of being in the same industry longer than them.
However, don’t just think of this as a quick way to monetize a website. Far from that. Think about offering quality courses that will make your trainees recommend your services to others.
